Boulder Pointe - Day CampOutdoor RecreationLearn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! Once you've registered with STMA Community Ed, please visit Boulder Pointe Equestrian & Events Center's website HERE to fill out their Release and Liability Form. Camps are held rain or shine, as there is an indoor barn and arena. Parent drop-off is at 9am and parent pickup is 3pm. Sorry, Boulder Pointe does not allow parents to stay for the day. Please bring the following: Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. Boulder Pointe - My Little Horse CampOutdoor RecreationCampers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses at Boulder Pointe, and learn about how to groom the horses, all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. Bridges of the Twin CitiesTrips & ToursThere are more bridges crossing the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities than any other place along the entire river’s length. Visit The Stone Arch Bridge. It is recognized as a National Civil Engineering Landmark. It was built in 1883 by James J. Hill’s Great Northern Railroad as a railroad bridge. It is now reserved for pedestrians and bicycles with panoramic views of St. Anthony Falls and the milling district of Minneapolis. The highest bridge in St. Paul is the Smith Avenue High Bridge, an inverted arch bridge with a deck height of 160 feet. You will hear stories about who built the bridges, how some have been re-envisioned and the impact each bridge has in the community they service. Bright Beginnings Camp CastleAges 4-5 years only Monday-Thursday 2:30-4:30pm at Community Education $15/day Children in the all-day sessions at CE (Sessions #8, #9, or #10) may participate in our new Camp Castle. Staff will provide 2 hours of extras in a fun, safe environment. Children will have the chance to enrich their preschool experience with science, art, and literacy activities. California Sushi Roll ExtravaganzaCulinaryLearn to make customizable California rolls, from seasoned sushi rice and spicy mayo to creative fillings like crab salad, vegetarian options, or seafood—roll, wrap, and enjoy your own sushi creations. Ingredient / Supplies / Equipment Needs in case participants wish to shop ahead of time: Sushi rice, nori/seaweed sheets, toasted sesame oil, (Japanese) rice vinegar. A bamboo sushi-rolling mat can be helpful, but not necessary. Additional ingredients will be listed in the information packet that will be received 3—5 days before the class. The week of class, you will receive an email with an ingredient and supply list, prep packet, and Zoom video conferencing link . A few days after the class you will receive an additional email with the instructors copyrighted recipes used during the class that are only shared with registered participants. Note: One registration fee for this online virtual interactive class can include immediate family members living full-time in the same home ONLY. If children are participating, adult supervision is required. If friends, adult children, or extended family members are gathering for a fun night together, EACH household must register SEPARATELY even if participating together. As an added bonus, the instructor has created a private group and a public group on Facebook for participants of her cooking classes.
