Learn how to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. The blended learning option combines online learning with in-person skills sessions conducted by a Red Cross certified instructor. Participants in blended learning courses acquire the same knowledge and skills as those in traditional classroom training courses. Upon successful completion of the class, participants will receive American Red Cross Lifeguard and Shallow Water Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED certification. Prerequisite Skills Swim 300 yards continuously (100 yards for Shallow Water), Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs, complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds (starting in water swim 20 yards, surface dive feet first to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to surface and swim 20 yards on the back to starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping face at or near surface of the water). Note: In order to participate in Lifeguard certification classes, participants must be at least 15 years of age by the end of the course.Winter/Spring 2026 -

Blended Learning combines online learning with on-site skill sessions for skill practice and assessment. Online completion is required prior to the first day of the course. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. This class fee includes books. Age Prerequisite: Students must be 16 years of age by the last day of the class. Skill Prerequisites: Demonstration of swimming skills equivalent to Red Cross Level 4 swim lesson requirements. Students must be able to perform 25 yards of all strokes: back crawl, breaststroke, front crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, butterfly(15 yards) as well as treading water for 1 minute.
