Driver's Education ClassDriver Educationstma Driver Education – 2025 FALL SESSION The fall (2025) Driver Education class will be at the stma High School, Room 1685 (enter Door C, Activity Center entrance). Students must be 15 years of age or older by April 6, 2026 to register. Attendance is taken daily. Students must attend all 30 classroom hours to move forward in obtaining their driver license. No refunds of the classroom portion of the fees within 5 days of the class start date. Students must download a copy of the Minnesota Class D Driver's License Manual on a smart device.The manual is used daily in class. Free download from State of Minnesota: MN Driver's Manual (Download and/or print). NOTE: There will be an Optional Parent/Guardian AND Student Presentation scheduled in fall. Both the parent/guardian AND student must attend this meeting to be eligible to log 40 hours rather than 50 hours of supervised driving. 2025 FALL CLASS SCHEDULE: Without Driver's Education Instructor's prior approval, no one is allowed to miss the first day of class. Behind the Wheel-Corey Hanson-AugustDriver EducationState Mandates & Completion Per Minnesota State Law, students must complete six hours of formal Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) instruction to qualify for their Class D driver’s license road test. Session Structure: These six hours are typically completed over three to four sessions. Certification: Upon successful completion of the full six hours, students will receive an eCard Certificate of Completion via email. Scheduling Rules & Restrictions To ensure student safety and proper skill development, the following scheduling policies are enforced: Instructor Consistency: Students must register with the same BTW Instructor for all sessions. If a student registers with a different instructor, the appointment will be removed from the schedule Frequency Limit: To allow for adequate practice and progression, students may not schedule more than one session every three weeks. Multiple appointments scheduled within the same month will be canceled. Permit Requirement: Students must have a valid learner’s permit in their possession for every session. Meeting Locations School Year: All sessions begin at the front entrance of STMA High School. Summer Sessions: All sessions meet at the front entrance of Middle School West.Summer 2026
