School of Fish
Join pro angler and fishing TV show host, Mike Frisch, for a fun 2.5-hour fishing class designed for kids (and adults!). In this hands-on class, students will learn about lakes, how to find fish, and the best techniques to catch them. They'll also get to tie their own fishing knots and set up a slip-bobber rig.
- Ages 5-9 (with a parent)
- Ages 10+ (with or without a parent)
Each student receives:
- A School of Fish hat
- A rod & reel
- A tackle box with tackle
- A full-color School of Fish workbook
- A snack pack
Plus, one adult can attend with a child at
Special Opportunity: One lucky graduate from all 2025 classes will be drawn to appear as a guest on Fishing the Midwest TV show! Most importantly, kids leave with the knowledge, skills, and equipment they need to start fishing right away!
Participation Guidelines Ages 5-9: Must participate with a parent. If the parent is assisting, they do not need to register separately. Ages 10+: Can attend with or without a parent - no additional cost if they share the equipment pack. If the adult would like their own supplies, they’ll need to register separately. Parents are welcome to help, especially since some knot-tying might be tricky for younger kids.
Mike Frisch
Mike is regarded as one of the top fishing guides in the Upper Midwest. He is a walleye and bass tournament angler with wins and several top finishes. Mike also excels at catching panfish. His multi-species expertise and knowledge of many lakes will allow him to customize a guide trip to your liking. You can name the species so Mike can find the hot bite or, he can help you learn your favorite lake better or, you can rely on him to plan the trip. Whatever your desires, Mike will work hard to meet your expectations!
A teacher and coach by profession, Mike will help you learn fishing techniques enabling you to become a better angler!
