Boulder Pointe - 3 Day Horse CampOutdoor RecreationExperience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Once you've registered with STMA Community Ed, please visit Boulder Pointe Equestrian & Events Center's website HERE to fill out their Release and Liability Form. Camps are held rain or shine, as there is an indoor barn and arena. Parent drop-off is at 9am and parent pickup is 3pm. Sorry, Boulder Pointe does not allow parents to stay for the day. Please bring the following: Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. No flip flops. Boulder Pointe - Day CampOutdoor RecreationLearn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. At the end of the week, parents and family are invited to a performance to see what their camper has been learning! Please note that riding takes up about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. School of FishOutdoor RecreationJoin pro angler and fishing TV show host, Mike Frisch, for a fun 2.5-hour fishing class designed for kids (and adults!). In this hands-on class, students will learn about lakes, how to find fish, and the best techniques to catch them. They'll also get to tie their own fishing knots and set up a slip-bobber rig. Ages 5-9 (with a parent) Ages 10+ (with or without a parent) Each student receives: A School of Fish hat A rod & reel A tackle box with tackle A full-color School of Fish workbook A snack pack Plus, one adult can attend with a child at Special Opportunity: One lucky graduate from all 2025 classes will be drawn to appear as a guest on Fishing the Midwest TV show! Most importantly, kids leave with the knowledge, skills, and equipment they need to start fishing right away! Participation Guidelines Ages 5-9: Must participate with a parent. If the parent is assisting, they do not need to register separately. Ages 10+: Can attend with or without a parent - no additional cost if they share the equipment pack. If the adult would like their own supplies, they’ll need to register separately. Parents are welcome to help, especially since some knot-tying might be tricky for younger kids.Summer 2026 -
Youth Mountain Bike Race Ready!Outdoor RecreationDesigned for young racers preparing for the upcoming race season, this class focuses on bike readiness before and during competition. Participants should bring the bike they currently race on or a bike they may be looking to sell or upgrade. Students will learn how to handle common mechanical issues that can happen during a race and what to do when problems arise. Each bike will be checked for key safety components including headsets, hubs, and cranks; brakes; shifting and chain; wheels and tires; pedals; and the seat post and saddle. If a bike needs parts or repairs that cannot be completed during class, participants will be given guidance on next steps to ensure their bike is safe and running smoothly.Summer 2026
