STMA Ski Club

Location: Powder Ridge, Kimball, MN

Grades: STMA students grades 6-12.

Time: Busses will depart after school (around 3:20pm) and will return to STMA High School around 9:30pm.

Dates: Thursdays, Dec. 10, Dec. 17, Jan. 7, Jan. 14, Jan. 21, Jan. 28

Powder Ridge Bonus Day: Thursday, Feb. 4

• This bonus day is given to us by Powder Ridge. No transportation will be provided. Students will be given a lift ticket during their final session (Jan. 28) and can head up to Powder Ridge on their own on Feb. 4. Rental cards provide students with rentals year round, not just ski club days.

• Transportation
• Season-long rental equipment (if selected)
• 7 days of skiing (6 Ski Club days + 1 Bonus Day)

REGISTRATION DEADLINES

• Due to the planning and coordination required between Community Ed and Powder Ridge, deadlines and strict and no exceptions will be made if the deadline is missed.
• Early registration period: August 12th (12:00am) - November 12th (4:00pm)
• Late registration period (addition $50 cost for enrollment): November 12th (4:00pm) - November 18th (11:59pm).
• No registrations accepted after November 18th.

PARENT MEETING

• The Ski Club parent meeting will take place on Thursday, November 5th at 6:00pm. This will be at the Community Ed gymnasium. 
• This is open to anyone whether registered or not. It is a great way for parents who want to learn more about Ski Club to hear about the details and ask any questions they may have prior to getting registered. 
• It is recommended all parents attend, but for parents who have participated in Ski Club before, operations will be very similar to last year.
• If you cannot make the parent meeting a Ski Club informational newsletter will be sent out to families which will cover major information.

SKI CLUB NOTES:

• Ski Club registration is non-refundable after November 25th @4:00pm. Parents should be conscious of other school events that may result in your student missing Ski Club, as no refunds will be given for those days. The only refunds that will be provided are prorated refunds as a result of a documented injury. 
• All skiers and chaperones are required to wear a helmet. If you do not own a helmet, helmet rental registration can be found below.
• Lessons are optional but must be registered for before the deadline. Lessons are non-refundable and consist of sessions at the beginning of the first two days of ski club. Registration is separate and can be found below. 
• Students are not allowed to drive themselves to Powder Ridge. Any student who drives themselves will not be allowed to participate.
• All busses return to the STMA High School, participants must be picked up by 9:30pm (or when the bus arrives). Ensure ARUX text notifications are turned on. Community Ed will notify families of the bus ETA via text. If students are picked up late they will not be allowed to participate the following week and no refund will be issued. 
• Assistant chaperones needed:
  • Chaperones are not required to attend each of the six days. They will be an extra set of eyes and supervision. They will receive a free lift ticket for themselves on the days they attend.
  • Chaperones are required to ride the buses with the students to and from the ski hill. Chaperones will not be allowed to drive themselves and their student. 
• More in-depth information regarding Ski Club will be provided at the parent meeting and via the online newsletter that will get sent out prior to Ski Club beginning.

Single Day Ski Trip at Wild Mountain

*Please note: Wild Mountain is open to ANYONE in 6th-12th grade. You do not have to be enrolled in Powder Ridge Ski Club to participate in the Wild Mountain day. Everyone is welcome!
