Summer Speed & Strength Session 2Running and FitnessThe STMA Summer Sports Performance program, powered by Training HAUS, is built for athletes of all ages and skill levels to enhance their overall athleticism. Our science-based training focuses on developing key physical abilities like strength, speed, power, and movement efficiency while making injury prevention a top priority. Class runs June 8th - August 6th with no class the week of July 6th - 10th (MSHSL Blackout Week). Summer of HoopsBasketballSummer of Hoops is a basketball program designed to build strong fundamentals in dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and defense, with most of each practice dedicated to individual skill development. Players will also take part in small-group drills and team game play to apply what they’ve learned in a fun, supportive environment. The program emphasizes skill growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Sunshine and Smiles Summer PreschoolYouth Academic SupportPerfect for children getting ready for preschool or kindergarten in the fall. Arts and crafts, stories, circle time and outside play are included in this fun-filled session. Children will learn routines, rules and expectations for school. Small group size, so be sure to register early. Parents do not stay for class. Your child must be completely toilet-trained and independent in the restroom. Swim Lessons - Level 5/6 Stroke Refinement and Skill ProficiencyAquaticsParticipants learn shallow-angle dive in 9 feet of water, tuck/pike surface dives in deep end, front/backstroke flip turns, tread water for 5 minutes, front crawl for 50 yards, breaststroke for 25 yards, butterfly for 25 yards, elementary backstroke for 50 yards, back crawl for 25 yards, sidestroke for 25 yards. Participants will work on all six strokes. Front crawl 100 yards, elementary backstroke 100 yards, back crawl 50 yards, breaststroke 50 yards, sidestroke 50 yards, butterfly 50 yards, open wall turns, flip turns, survival float, feet first, tuck and pike dives in deep, tread water for 5 minutes. The instructor, LeeAnne Krusemark, an author and editor, and nationwide Professor of Publishing at higher learning institutions, including Harvard Adult Education, has been assisting teen writers get published for years. Informative handouts for future use are included in class fee. This class will be held using the online platform, Zoom. Tiny T-BallBaseballIntroduce your little slugger to the fun of T-ball in a safe, positive, and encouraging environment! This class focuses on the fundamentals through age-appropriate activities that build basic skills, hand-eye coordination, body movement, and teamwork. An adult must accompany each child. Space is limited, so please register online early to secure a spot. Be sure to bring a water bottle, wear sunscreen and athletic shoes. All participants receive a T-shirt; register at least three weeks before the start date to guarantee the correct size.
